Dillsburg Dual Shootout COVID-19 Response 2024

Dear Coach or Manager,

Monday 8-17-2020 at the Dillsburg Area Soccer Club Board meeting at my recommendation the DASC board voted to cancel the 2020 Dillsburg Dual Shootout tournament. This recommendation was made because of the tournament’s unique game format and the large number of teams that need to be on site at the same time. I felt that we could not meet all the COVID safety standards required by the PA Department of Health and EPYSA. I needed to put players, coaches, spectators & staff health ahead of playing games and monetary profits even though the club has already invested thousands of dollars into the 2020 tournament. I also wanted to give teams ample time to find an alternative tournament for the October 10 & 11 weekend if they still wanted to play. All payments I received were held and never cashed. Teams that submitted payment will have their checks shredded or returned if they contact me with that request. Hopefully this COVID pandemic will get under control so I can safely offer a Dillsburg Dual Shootout October 9 & 10, 2021 and you will return and join us.
